Directions:
From Malta, MT go about 8 miles west on highway 2 to the turn off to Wagner. The turn off is just east of milepost 462.  Turn right onto North Wagner Road (gravel) and follow the signs 11.5 miles to the trail site.  Stay on North Wagner Rd. all the way.

The photos below were taken in early spring 2016 before green-up and leaf-out as Terry and I scouted out the site.  We saw several coveys of sharp tails!  Todd :^)

1. This is the sign at the turn off from hw 2 looking to the east (as if coming from Great Falls).  Turn north (away from Wagner).  Included is a Montana White Cross to remind us all to drive safely.

2. Another view of the turn off looking east toward Malta.  You would go north (left) from this direction.

3. From the turn off of hw 2 looking north.  At the fork ahead, angle left.  Todd's truck.

4. Taken from same spot as photo #3 showing the ranch buildings on the right side of the road and the same fork.  Again, at the fork, angle left.

5. Bear right staying on the main road at this fork.

6. Continue on straight at the old washing machine.  Think "running clean" thoughts...

7.  Here is a close up of the old washing machine.  Follow the arrow toward Wilson Ranch.  Good cell coverage at this hill, close to the camp grounds.

8. Here is the turn off from the main road into the Assiniboine Creek Trail Grounds camping area.  Note the old building at the camp site.

9. Turn right into the camp site.  Note the same old building.

10. Note the same old building on the left.  This is the camping area.  Also looking south west to the marshaling area beyond the trees for the southern course.

11.  Here is another view looking south west from camp at the southern course.  Note the large corral on the right.

12. Here is a view from camp looking west/north west at the northern course.  The marshaling area will probably be out of sight to the right of the photo.  Note the same corral but on the left.

Here are photos taken when we rode the courses in July, 2016.

Here is the turn off coming from Malta, looking west.  Turn right (north) here.

Here is a view through my dirty windshield crossing Assiniboine Creek.  The yellow water tank on the hill to the left is the south eastern end of the property we are having the trial on.

Here is the same fork pictured in #3 and #4 above.  Take a left to stay on the main road.

Here is a view of the same yellow water tank on the south east end of the trial grounds.  Assiniboine Cr. is pictured in the rear view mirror.

Here is a communications tower on your left as you are driving in, about 1/2 way to the grounds.

Here is the camping area with lots of foliage for the horses to eat.  There are a number of badger holes in the camping area but, very few on the courses.

July, 2016.  Terry Courtright, Heather Gast and I rode the courses.  The break away for the all age course is through the gate directly in front of the truck in this photo.
